(Coverage begins Saturday, May 19 at 4:30pm EST)
This Saturday marks the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes, one of the most heavily anticipated horse-racing events of the year, and based on what we saw at the Kentucky Derby, this year’s race should prove to be heavily competitive.
For the 2012 running of the Preakness, everyone will be watching I’ll Have Another, the winner of the Kentucky Derby, as he attempts to be the first Triple Crown winner in 34 years, but his competitor Bodemeister is predicted to give him a run for his money.
Millions around the world will be watching the Preakness Stakes live on their televisions (NBC), but what about those of us who can’t get to a TV or want to watch live online? Luckily, NBC Sports is offering free live coverage of the Preakness online, including the pre-race coverage at the Pimlico Race Course in Maryland and The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans.
NBC won’t be posting the official link until just before live coverage begins, so tune into FreeCast on Saturday to find out where to go for the big race.
So if you can’t make it to Maryland this weekend, and you don’t have a TV at your disposal when the time comes, you can still stream the Preakness Stakes live online with your computer or mobile device, and FreeCast is here to guide you to the coverage…for free!
While coverage is set to begin at 4:30pm EST, the race itself is not scheduled to kick off until 6:19pm (EST).
