Which Movie-Star’s Daughter Auditioned for “Idol” Last Night?
The popular US TV show American idol has been a ratings behemoth for nearly a decade, but with its popularity on a downslope in the past couple seasons, producers of the show are doing whatever they can to get people to watch, whether it means having a “Music From the Beatles” night or having host Steven Tyler sing the national anthem at an NFL playoff game. Last night, however, they got a little bit of an unexpected surprise, as a certain celebrity’s daughter made her way through the throngs of auditioners to stand and perform in front of the Idol Judges.
Who was it, you ask? It was none other than Jane Carrey, the 24 year-old daughter of the man who has brought laughs to millions of moviegoers worldwide with such classic flicks as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Cable Guy, The Mask and many more (it’s Jim Carrey in case you didn’t figure it out). Although she didn’t bust out into a comedy routine or pretend to sing out of her rear-end, she still made a strong enough impression on the judges to move on to the next round with her rendition of Bonnie Raitt’s “Something to Talk About”.
