NTIA just released numbers that report big increases in mobile users 25 and older. From 2011 to 2012, the report found increases across many activities: 45% increase in the number of users who use their mobile devices to download applications, 27% increase in browsing the web, 30% increase in checking email, and 36% increase in using social networks.
But when it comes to consuming video or watching television, consumers still prefer the big screen in their living room by a long shot. Watching TV on smartphones, tablets and computers is no doubt on the rise, yet Nielsen reports that 92.3% of Americans still prefer the television. This includes live TV, time-shifted TV and VOD.
