Jun 25, 2020 (AB Digital via COMTEX) — FreeCast and Access Media are announcing a partnership that will add two channels to FreeCast’s SelectTV and other SmartGuide-powered web television services. Access Media Group’s AMGTV and Take A Look will now join the FreeCast channel lineup and be made available to millions of customers.
AMGTV is a variety channel that already reaches over 60 million households via broadcast, cable and satellite, and OTT distribution. Take A Look is an entertainment network focusing on upcoming movies, popular television shows, and all the latest from Hollywood.
Both channels come to FreeCast’s SmartGuide at a time when the company is working to more tightly integrate content from external providers into the service by working more closely with its content partners than ever before. Rather than simply linking to existing streams of content, FreeCast is now creating both a more seamless experience for its own customers, and more robust revenue opportunities for its partners via Dynamic Ad-Insertion technology.
FreeCast CEO William Mobley talked about the new channels and the shift in strategy: “These are great channels for us. Our selling point has always been that our service is the only one that can give you everything. For a long time, that meant helping consumers find content, like a search engine. Now, we’re working with content providers like Access Media to bring it directly to them. Many of our customers are media buffs with multiple streaming services and bigger entertainment budgets, so AMGTV and Take A Look are well-matched to that audience.”
