Netflix has ordered “Flaked,” a comedy series starring Will Arnett, slated to premiere worldwide in 2016.
The eight-episode comedy, set in the insular world of Venice, Calif., is about a self-appointed guru who falls for the object of his best friend’s fascination. Arnett plays Chip, a man doing his “honest best to stay one step ahead of his own lies,” per producers.
Executive producers Will Arnett and Mark Chappell (“The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret”) co-created and co-wrote the series. Also serving as exec producers are Ben Silverman, founder and chairman of Electus Entertainment; and Peter Principato and Mitch Hurwitz (creator, writer and producer of “Arrested Development,” with whom Netflix inked a multiyear development pact last year). Electus and Principato-Young Entertainment are providing production services.
