Remember the days when you could come home from work, plop down on the couch and enjoy the simple humor of Roseanne and her TV family every night? Well, maybe not everyone was a fan of the popular 90s sitcom Roseanne, but those who were are in for a pleasant surprise.
NBC has just picked up three new comedies to pilot in the coming year, one of which will be a multi-camera sitcom called Downwardly Mobile starring, you guessed it, Roseanne Barr. The show, which will be written and executive produced by the legendary comedienne, has her playing the owner of a mobile home park. The plot will basically involve her character playing mother-like roles to her tenants during challenging economic times (with hilarious results, I’m sure).
In addition to Downwardly Mobile, NBC will also be picking up comedies by Friends writer Scott Silveri and Hangover 2 writer Scot Armstrong. The three shows will be aired alongside pilots for Isabel, The Sarah Silverman Project, and Save Me.
