Sony’s rivals are no longer Microsoft and Nintendo in the world of consoles. If you are a gamer, you already know what demographics each console is appealing. Microsoft targets the hardcore gamers, Nintendo targets the non-gamers & casual gamers, and Sony targets the casual & hardcore gamers. Since the Playstation 4 hit the markets in November 2013, about the same time Microsoft released the Xbox One, Sony continued pressing on the console being more for simply gaming.
That further proved to be true when Microsoft closed its Xbox Entertainment Studios shortly after it announced it would provide original TV content for the Xbox One consoles. Sony and Microsoft’s rivalry will strictly be video games. It’s up for debate on how Playstation original content will fare with Powers, starring Sharlto Copley.
